Up for grabs is an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak
Reference 14700 BC with 36mm case, in 18k white gold, with stunning lacquered black dial with diamond markers.
This reference was only made between 1991-1992. Even though the case is measured at 36mm, these watches had a thinner bezel than other 35 and 36mm Royal Oak and a dial that was only 1mm smaller than reference 5402 “Jumbo” 39mm Royal Oak, so this particular model wears very nicely on the wrist and feels bigger than 36mm.
A very early production piece with serial number 004 and Caliber 2125. Later production models had the 2225 caliber.
The original jet black lacquered dial with diamond markers is stunning in pictures and in person. It is not known how many were made with this dial and the only other one I could find publicly was sold by Phillips in 2018, with serial number 006.
This watch remains in very sharp and tight condition. The bracelet appears to be fully linked and fits about a 7.75″ wrist comfortably. The bracelet has very light stretch.
The watch was found together with its original Guarantee certificate as well as Certificate d’Origine with all matching numbers. The papers are dated in 1992 at time of purchase from a Japanese retailer.
There is no service history on this watch, but it winds and runs and function as should currently.
