Up for grabs is a Tudor Submariner Date
Reference 79190 with 40mm case
B983,XXX serial number circa early 1998 production.
This is the very last version of Tudor Submariner, the so-called “Endgame Tudor Sub”
These Subs have finally stepped away from the Rolex names, terms, and parts.
The most obvious is the bezel insert. It is no longer aluminum or made to fit both Rolex Subs and Tudor Subs. This insert is metal, high polish finished, with engraved numerals. It is familiar to the look of a Hydronaut bezels, the model which replaces the Tudor Submariner.
The dial is glossy blue, but unlike earlier versions, the luminous material is encased in a white gold surrounded markers, like Rolex Subs model 16800 have transitioned form matte to glossy dials.
The winding crown carries a Tudor logo now, not the Rolex crown.
The caseback is stamped “Tudor, Prince, Geneva” with Tudor shields instead of the Rolex crowns and “Case by Rolex” we see in earlier version of 79190.
According to the hang tag, this watch watch also came on 78500 Tudor bracelet, though someone has replaced it with a Rolex 78360 bracelet on this example. This bracelet has 580 ends, 12 links, and O date code.
As with all 79190, these have sapphire crystals.
This watch comes with its original boxes, papers, and hang tag.
No service history is known, it winds smoothly and runs at +1 seconds with ~250 amplitude.
