A. Lange & Söhne Lange 1 Perpetual Calendar ref. 345.036 “Platinum, Darth”

Up for grabs is an A. Lange & Söhne Lange 1 Perpetual Calendar.

Reference 345.036 E in platinum with a black dial.

Introduced in 2023, this version continues a relatively uncommon combination of black dials and platinum cases within A. Lange & Söhne. The pairing can be traced back to a unique Tourbillon Pour le Mérite from 1996, followed by watches including the original Datograph and the Lange 1 “Darth” ref. 101.035 in 1999.

The watch measures 41.9mm by 12.9mm and retains the asymmetric Lange 1 layout while incorporating a full perpetual calendar. Rather than using a conventional month subdial, the months are displayed on a peripheral ring surrounding the dial. The remaining indications include the signature outsized date, day of the week, leap year, moonphase, day/night indication, and subsidiary seconds.

All calendar indications switch instantaneously at midnight and are designed to remain correctly displayed through the varying lengths of months and leap years without manual correction until 2100.

Powering the watch is the automatic A. Lange & Söhne calibre L021.3, comprising 621 components and 63 jewels, with approximately 50 hours of power reserve. The movement features German silver plates and bridges, screwed gold chatons, blued screws, and a hand-engraved balance cock.

Unlike the original 2020 white gold Lange 1 Perpetual Calendar, which was limited to 150 pieces, the platinum reference 345.036 E is not a numbered limited edition but was introduced as a boutique-exclusive model

This example remains in excellent, lightly used, and unpolished condition.

The watch comes with 2 original ALS straps, one in blue you see in photos and another factory matte black one. The platinum buckle is also original ALS.

The watch comes complete with all boxes, manuals, pusher, and dated in 2025, still remaining under factory warranty.
