Up for grabs is an Audemars Piguet [Re]Master02

Reference 15240SG.OO.A347CR.01, produced as a limited edition of 250 pieces in 2024.

The [Re]Master02 is based on the unusual Audemars Piguet reference 5159BA from 1961. The original was an asymmetrical yellow gold watch produced in only seven examples, during a period between 1959 and 1963 when Audemars Piguet created more than 30 different asymmetrical designs.

Rather than directly reproducing the vintage reference, the [Re]Master02 reinterprets its design in modern proportions. The asymmetrical case measures 41mm wide and 9.7mm thick and is made from Audemars Piguet’s proprietary 18k Sand Gold alloy, with predominantly satin-brushed surfaces and polished accents.

The dial is constructed from 12 individual compartments filled with “Bleu Nuit, Nuage 50” PVD-treated inserts, each finished with linear brushing. The Audemars Piguet signature is produced by galvanic growth, while the hour and minute hands are made from 18k Sand Gold. Small openings at 12, 6, and 9 o’clock allow the minute hand to travel beneath the surrounding case structure.

Visible through the sapphire caseback is the automatic calibre 7129, an ultra-thin movement derived from the calibre 7121 used in the current Royal Oak “Jumbo.” With the date mechanism removed, the movement measures only 2.8mm thick and offers approximately 52 hours of power reserve. It is fitted with an openworked 22k gold rotor plated to match the Sand Gold case.

The watch remains in excellent and very lightly worn condition. It comes as a complete set with AP boxes and warranty card.
