Up for grabs is an F.P. Journe Agjustable Folding Clasp in 18k Red Gold
This is a 19mm buckle in excellent condition without much signs of wear.
The idea came from a collaboration with the designer Roland Iten. The story has it that;
“late at night in a Cigar Bar in Tokyo in 2003, the two masterminds of complication began to discuss how the contemplated calibration Roland Iten had applied to a mechanical belt buckle could be transformed into a watch clasp. Table top sketches flowed from their pens as fluidly as the cognac poured from the bottle of Camus Cuveé they shared”
Followed by a year-long creative process, the result was the world’s first calibrated watch closure designed by Francois Paul Journe, based on a patent created for him by Roland Iten. The latter refers to it as one of his favourite creations thus far, and we can certainly see the appeal that the ingenious mechanism offers.
The buckle has 8 positions, separated by 1mm. By turning the clasp’s central disc, up to an 8mm extension can be created – a useful and distinctive addition to your Journe watch. On the outer section of the buckle are engraved F.P. Journe’s distinctive Arabic numerals, numbered for 1 to 8, with an arrow pointing at the selected setting.
