Up for grabs is an F.P. Journe Turbillon Souverain
This is the first model with “T” reference, 38mm platinum case and brass movement.
A Tourbillon was actually the very first wristwatch FP has ever made, finishing his prototype in 1993. Then, in 1999 FP introduced the Souscription model with most similar aesthetics as the current watch being offered. This is the 4th generation with “03T” designation indicating a production run from 2003, the final year for this model. Some of the tiny differences and updates from the first generation as the size of dials screws, shape of remontoire cock, size of font on power reserve, etc. Approximately 100 pieces were made of 4th gen. T between 2001 and 2003. During this time, the watch offered in platinum or rose gold cases and choices of yellow, white, rose gold gold dials. The present example features a white gold dial, which has already developed some patina on the dial, creating a perfect balance for people like myself who love vintage watches and appreciates the more modern independent brands.
The case is in excellent vintage condition without any major dings or dents. The lug edges remain sharp and not showing any signs of overpolish or polish.
The dial is in excellent condition with the right signs of aging and patina. The 4th generation dials show shimmer still and this one plays nicely in the light showing of warm tan hues depending on the light.
The watch comes on an FPJ strap with original deployant FPJ buckle. The original early wooden FPJ box set is also included. No card, but the certificate from FPJ has been ordered and will be included with the sale.
Since there is no service history on this piece, I will offer to cover the cost of factory service of the watch within 6 months of purchase. Currently the watch works fine and keeps time.
