Up for grabs is an F.P. Journe Toubillon Souverain
Reference “TN”, which stands for Tourbillon Nouveau (new in French).
The Tourbillon Souverain with remontoire and dead beat seconds is endowed with the characteristics and technical demands inherent to creations by F.P. Journe – Invenit et Fecit -. Its mechanism uses the remontoire, or constant force device, which the brand values for its timekeeping performances, and has now been enriched with an independent ‘dead beat seconds’ system. This complication, representing a unique feature on a contemporary wristwatch, provides for a more accurate read of precise time. The french term for “independent seconds”, called “seconde morte” or “dead beat seconds”, stems from the fact that the hand remains motionless (“dead”) for as long as the second has not actually elapsed. The hand thus indicates the second only after it has actually past.
This model has been in production between 2003 and 2018 and the current example has been delivered to France in 2006. Based on research, it is about this time when the dial texture becomes less “grainy” during the production. The current example has the early, grainy dial which is so pleasing to the eye.
The condition of the watch is well preserved without any major dings or dents or deep scratches.
The combination of rose gold with white gold (grey) dial is rare as most standard production models were made either in platinum with grey dials.
The incredible is dial is damage and patina-free.
This watch was found on its original and used FPJ brown gator strap, which will be included with the sale, but also comes with a nice original FPJ matte grey alligator mounted on FPJ rose gold buckle.
The example comes with FPJ boxes, the manual book and the Certificate with matching numbers and description of the watch.
