Up for grabs is a Rolex Submariner
6536/1 reference
112,XXX serial number circa 1955. Correct BREVET+ case and correct serial number range for the red depth dial.
This watch came from semi-local private owner to me. His family has owned the watch since new. Originally, it was purchase by his uncle, which later was given to his father and ultimately passed on to the last owner who sold the watch to me. This watch has never been offered for sale before by a dealer or private party. It is presented and being sold in “as found, honest” condition and state without taking anything away or replacing.
The case is in excellent vintage condition. Serial and reference numbers are easy to read and fully intact. No corrosion, no pitting, no wear on top of bottom.
Dial is original, radium gilt in original condition. No relume or refinish. Very crisp font. Some of the luminous material has chipped off. Hands are original, gilt with long hour and big bubble. The dial and hands are very radioactive still under Geiger counter.
Caseback is original stamped 6536-1 and ’55, original.
Bracelet a Rolex USA C&I and fits a large wrist.
No box or papers. According to the owner, watch has been serviced last year and should not need attention.
