Up for grabs is an Omega Speedmaster
2998-2 reference “Straight lug” pre-professional
177613XX serial number circa 1960 production and correct for -2 execution of 2998’s.
Excellent vintage condition case with thick and even lugs. No corrosion or pitting. No major dings or dents.
Dial is original and correct, SWISS MADE, radium, domed and has aged to an awesome tropical brown color. Hands are original, lollipop hand is original and correct, leaf hands on subdials are original and correct.
Watch comes with a later execution bezel that has also aged to a brown tone. Very attractive in pictures and in person.
Caseback is original, outer engraving shows wear, but still very legible. Inside is stamped 2998-2.
The watch runs and winds smoothly. Chronograph runs, stops, and resets back to zero.
It comes on an Omega black alligator strap with Omega steel buckle. No box or papers. No documented service history.
