Up for grabs is a Rolex Submariner No-Crown-Guard
5508 reference
762,XXX serial number circa 1962 production
Excellent vintage condition case with thick and even lugs. Very crisp and fully intact serial and reference numbers.
Dial is amazing glossy gilt Exclamation with warm patina’d tritium markers. Never refinished, never repaired, never relumed. No chips, notable scratches, no corrosion, etc. The watch has been serviced several times as we can tell by markings on caseback, so the dial has been handled, therefore you can see in macro pictures some marks and dust. Hands appear original with matching patina to the dial.
Caseback is original, in excellent vintage condition with 5508 and II.62 stamped inside.
Bezel and insert are later with serif font insert, tritium pearl and steel bezel.
Watch comes on Rolex 7206 rivet bracelet with 58’s ends and ’66 stamp on clasp. It is currently mounted on a very nice, unworn, vintage glossy black leather strap with steel buckle.
No box or papers. No documented service history, currently runs well .
