Up for grabs is an Omega Speedmaster Professional
105.012 reference pre-moon, though this is the “real” Moon Watch being a confirmed reference that actually was worn on the Moon.
228275XX serial number circa 1965
Excellent condition case with sharp and defined edges. No pitting or corrosion.
Dial is excellent original, step, tritium, with applied logo. Dial has aged to a tropical brown color, especially seen in sun. Ironically, the one picture that captures this the best is one taken by my iPhone instead of the DSLR :). The plots have aged to a dark color and have a bit sloppy application when looking through a loupe. Though they match the hands’ color, as well as barely glow after being exposed to bright light (which is correct for this time period), and consistency of luminous material is tritium like, I will go ahead label it as relumed a long time ago.
Crown and pushers are correct and appear to be original with skinny logo. Crystal is genuine Omega one, with logo in center.
Excellent bezel with correct dot over 90 insert.
Caseback is excellent with crisp Seamonster, visible double step, stamped 105.012 – 65 with case maker mark HF for Huguenin Freres.
Cal. 321 movement looks to be in excellent physical condition. The watch shows signs of recent service and running at 0/+2 seconds a day depending on condition, very strong amplitude, and crisp clicks on chrono buttons. Chrono runs and resets as should. I do not have paperwork confirming the service.
Watch comes on unworn vintage leather, brown strap with steel buckle.
No boxes, papers, or other accessories.
