SOLD 1968 Rolex Submariner No-Date 5513 Meters First w/ Papers

Up for grabs is a Rolex Submariner No-Date

5513 reference

2.0 mil serial number circa late 1968

Excellent vintage condition case. No dings or dents. Thick and even lugs and crown guards. Original bevels are evident, but case has been polished before. Original twin-lock crown. Serial and reference numbers are fully intact and clearly visible. 

Dial is original matte Meters First with creamy patina on plots and tritium hands. No spotting, chipping, scratches, etc.  Bezel has a matching patina tritium pearl. 

Caseback is correct and original, stamped 5513 and IV.68. Someone has etched the case serial number also at one point. 

Bracelet is a Rolex folded link. The clasp appears to be original and correct with 4.69 date stamp and Pat. Pending diver’s extension. The end links are 280’s. The last link on bracelet is stamped 7836, which I believe was replaced at some point. 

This watch was found and came from South America, specifically Brazil. It came with Rolex warranty papers stamped with “780” country code (which is Brazil), but the papers are not filled out. It also came with service receipt from 1997 in Sao Paolo, Brazil, manual book in Portuguese. I believe these papers to be original to the watch as evidence suggests, but am not adding much premium to the set price wise, as the papers are not filled. 

No other accessories or boxes. Service history is only documented in 1997. Watch runs well and smooth as should currently.
