Up for grabs is a Tudor Submariner

7016/0 reference

623,XXX serial number circa 1968 and what one would call transitional dial and case. The dial still carries Rose logo with silver print and gilt minute track while the case is short lived semi-pointed-crown-guard (SPCG) only correct for early 7016, later changing to standard crown guards.

Case is in excellent vintage condition with very thick and even lugs and original bevels clearly intact. Original twin-lock Rolex crown. Very defined and thick SPCG’s. Serial and reference numbers are fully intact and clearly visible.

Dial is in excellent vintage condition with great orange patina. Hands are original, with big lollipop Seconds had cracked and partially missing tritium. I had send the watch to ABC to get the hands matched. Dial is free of chips or scratches.

Caseback is in excellent condition. Inside is correctly stamped 7528 and I.68

The crystal appears original, high dome. Bezel insert is a fat font kissing 4 in aged vintage condition.

Watch comes on unworn vintage leather strap.

No box or papers. No documented service history. The watch runs very well and requires no immediate attention.
