Up for grabs is a Rolex Explorer II
1655 reference
2.7 mil MK1 circa 1971
Excellent condition case that has previously been polished. No dings, dents. or deep scratches. Nice bevels on thick and even lugs. Crown guards are thick and even. The serial and reference numbers are both intact and visible. No corrosion or pitting on case.
Dial is excellent Mark 1 with correct straight hand. Creamy patina throughout with matching hands. Orange GMT hand has faded to a pale orange color. Please note the chip at 6 o’clock marker. There are no other scratches, chips, or corrosion on dial. Date disk is white with open 6’s and 9’s.
Bezel is excellent, appears to be untouched service bezel.
Caseback is excellent and stamped 1655 and ii.71
Bracelet is excellent Rolex 93150 with 11 links, 580 ends, and S EO8 date stamp with S indicating it being a service replacement, thus suggesting that the bracelet, and perhaps the bezel, were replaced in 2007 as indicated by clasp date code.
No box or papers, no documented service history. Watch currently runs to COSC specs.
