Up for grabs is an Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch
145.022 reference
316174XX serial number circa 1972 production with papers dated in October 1972
Excellent vintage condition case with no dings, dents, or deep scratches. Watch appears to have been polished before, but still very nicely defined lugs and edges.
Dial is superb and flawless. No scratches, no chips, no spots, no marks. All of tritium is intact. It is a correct, early step dial, hands are excellent with yellow patina and also all tritium intact.
Original hesalite crystal with Omega logo in center
Excellent bezel shows only light signs of wear, no dings or dents.
Caseback is in excellent condition with 145.022-71 stamp inside
Bracelet is an Omega No. 12 with “47” end-links. Plenty of links to fit a human wrist, i’d say about 7.5″
This watch comes from original owner who purchased it in 1972 at NOB (Norfolk Operations Base) Exchange, local to me. Original boxes, manuals, warranty papers, even the sales receipt and matching price tag were all kept together for almost 43 years.
The caseback appears to have service marks from 2014. Watch runs well, winds smoohtly, and chrono operates as it should. Timekeeping is within COSC currently.
