Up for grabs is a Rolex Submariner Date
Reference 16803 with sapphire crystal, the first two-tone Submariner reference.
9.30 serial number circa 1986 production
Excellent vintage condition case is clearly unpolished and sharp. Fully legible numbers.
The dial has strong patina on plots and hands. The paint has faded and matted with typical for this era “spotty” aging.
Original date disk with open 6’s and 9’s.
The caseback has an engraving that brings out curiosity. “A Rh -” I would assume stands for Rhesus negative blood type. AAAC I think also means some type of condition. Perhaps Acute Abdominal aortic calcification if they added the blood type underneath. The watch did not come from the original owner, so I cannot say for sure. The engraving can be laser removed if you wish by LA Watchworks, but for me it adds some mystery and a story to the watch.
The bracelet is original, with very nice and crips coroner on clasp. Very minor stretch. 11 links, plus extension, correct 480 ends, I date code.
No box or papers.
