SOLD 1957 Rolex Submariner NCG 6536/1 James Bond Mirror Glossy Dial

Up for grabs is a Rolex Submariner 

6536/1 reference no-crown-guard “James Bond” 

3XX,XXX serial number circa 1957 production

I have personally found this watch about year and half ago from a local gentleman who was the original owner and purchase it and his early 60’s Speedmaster 2998 while serving in the US NAVY. I was able to purchase both watches from him. The 2998 found a new home right away. The 6536/1 was missing the bezel insert, crystal was heavily scratched up and it was running very poorly. That being said, it appeared to be in nearly untouched condition. I have passed the watch to a friend and client of mine in as is condition. Since then, the watch has been to ABC watchwerks where they serviced the watch, put a new crystal on, put a kissing 4 insert on (could not locate a nice enough red triangle), and dive a “vintage polish”, meaning they only touched up the original bevels and brushed surface on top of lugs, but did not polish down the sides at all. That’s original, as found finish on side. 

The case is in superb vintage condition. Thick, beveled lugs. Crisp edges, original finish on side, no corrosion, no pitting. Serial number and reference number are fully intact and very clearly visible. 

Dial is 99% flawless, original, with radium 6. Amazing orange patina throughout, very glossy finish remains intact on dial. Extremely attractive in person. There is a small tool mark right be the base of hands, probably from past service. It is very hard to notice and has been attempted to be displayed in one of the pictures, but it is mentioned for full disclosure. 

The hands are original, radium, gilt with white Seconds hand. 

Excellent vintage condition caseback. Very nice and sharp lock teeth on outside. Inside is stamped 6536/1 and III.57

Bracelet is a Swiss Rolex stretch rivet with 80 ends and ’57 date code on clasp. 

No box or papers. Will include service receipt from ABC
